Product Detail

Application

The published sheet covers decorative and industrial coatings, waterborne printing inks, adhesives and vegetable washing. It contains no pesticide or fertiliser formulation data, so agrochemical suitability has to be established by trial rather than assumed from the coatings results.

Formulation Type

Waterborne coatings, printing inks, adhesives and other source-listed industrial systems. No SC-specific recommendation is established.

Key Benefits

The following functions are described in the published source; they are not measured results for every formulation.

  • Rapid knockdown that holds during storage of the finished paint.
  • Effective in both acidic and alkaline media.
  • Silicone-free, so intercoat adhesion is not compromised.
  • Negligible effect on gloss in matt, silk, high-gloss and clear finishes.
  • Controls foam during paint preparation, packaging and application.

Technical Data

See the technical specifications table above and the source TDS below. Keep the stated units, dosage basis and test conditions together when comparing grades.

Application and dosage

DF580 can be added without pre-dilution; agitate before use. Split addition is recommended: add one to two thirds of the total before pigment dispersion and the remainder during let-down, then agitate thoroughly.

  • Waterborne matt paint: 0.3%-0.5%.
  • Silk and low-sheen paint: 0.2%-0.5%.
  • High-gloss and clear coatings: 0.1%-0.5%.
  • Adhesives: 0.1%-0.2%.

Storage

Protect from freezing. Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place at 5-35 °C, away from open flame and direct sunlight, with the container kept tightly closed. Shelf life is 12 months.
