Application
XY-510 is documented for pesticide thickening, emulsification and suspension. The same source also lists fertilizer suspension and thickening, water treatment suspension, coatings, paper bonding and oilfield separation applications. Contact our technical team to confirm the grade for your specific active ingredient, dosage form, water quality and process.
Aqueous pesticide and fertilizer suspensions; confirm suitability for the actual solids, water quality and process.
Key Benefits
The following functions are described in the published source; they are not measured results for every formulation.
The source describes thickening, suspension and emulsion stabilization through a weak gel-like network in water. Performance must be evaluated in the intended formulation.
Technical Data
See the technical specifications table above and the source TDS below. Keep the stated units, dosage basis and test conditions together when comparing grades.
Confirmed source specifications
The source TDS reports a pale yellow fine powder, 80 mesh particle size, maximum 15% loss on drying, viscosity above 1600 cP, an addition level of 0.05-0.3% and an optimum pH range of 5-10. The TDS does not state the viscosity test concentration, temperature, instrument or spindle speed, so the viscosity value should be used as a source specification pending test-method confirmation.
Addition level and processing
The source TDS lists 0.05-0.3%, but does not define the dosage basis. Confirm the numerator separately: mass of supplied XY-510 powder or mass of active material. Confirm the denominator: total formulation, water phase, dry solids or another explicitly defined mass. Do not treat these bases as interchangeable or use this range as a confirmed production recommendation.
For a trial recommendation, provide the formulation composition, solids content, water quality and process. Request the starting dose, dispersion and hydration procedure, temperature, mixing time and shear conditions in writing. For the viscosity value above 1600 cP, request the sample concentration and basis, preparation and hydration time, test temperature, instrument, spindle or geometry, speed or shear rate, and reading time.
Compatibility and formulation testing
The source describes solubility and stability under acidic and alkaline conditions, with an optimum pH range of 5-10, and compatibility with most metal salts. Confirm compatibility with your pesticide or fertilizer formulation, other additives and process conditions through application testing before scale-up. Record the test concentration, temperature, mixing conditions, storage time and evaluation method.
Storage and packaging
The source TDS lists 25 kg packaging and a two-year shelf life when stored dry at room temperature.
