OT-75 / CY-75 Anionic Wetting Agent

You are here:

OT-75, also identified as CY-75, is an anionic surfactant that migrates to interfaces very quickly. It works as a highly effective wetting agent and emulsifier, and its surface modification lowers surface tension to improve absorbency and penetration.

Product Detail

Application

  • Printing inks and overprint varnishes.
  • Emulsion polymerisation.
  • Coating formulations.
  • Pigment dispersion.
  • Textile and paper processing.
  • Cleaning and substrate wetting.

Formulation Type

Industrial waterborne systems, pigment dispersions and emulsion polymerization. A pesticide formulation type is not established by this source.

Key Benefits

The following functions are described in the published source; they are not measured results for every formulation.

The source describes rapid interfacial migration, wetting and emulsifying functions. Confirm the intended substrate and system before selection.

Technical Data

See the technical specifications table above and the source TDS below. Keep the stated units, dosage basis and test conditions together when comparing grades.

Handling

The product contains ethanol and is a flammable liquid, with a flash point of 34 °C. Handle, store and transport it to the applicable safety requirements, away from ignition sources and with adequate ventilation. The supplied PDF is a technical data sheet and does not replace the SDS.

Gel control and freeze-thaw

Evaporation of water and ethanol can cause gel formation, so keep containers tightly closed. If gel forms, 1%-2% ethanol by surfactant weight may be added until the gel disappears; that treatment should be confirmed by qualified technical staff against fire-safety and formulation requirements. Activity is not changed by freeze-thaw cycling; if the product freezes, agitate thoroughly before use.

Dosage

The data sheet gives no recommended dosage and no specific storage temperature. The starting level has to be set for the intended system with our technical team rather than taken from a generic figure.
